New Rimini Train Station: Arriving on the Riviera Has Never Been Easier

Rimini is evolving — and it starts right where every journey begins

Since September 2025, Rimini's train station has a brand new entrance on the seaside, opening onto Piazzale Carso. A modern, accessible and well-lit pedestrian underpass now connects the historic center directly to Marina Centro — the two souls of the city that were long separated by the railway tracks.

Whether you're planning a summer holiday on the Adriatic coast, a relaxing weekend on the Riviera Romagnola, or a business trip to one of Rimini's major trade fairs, travelling by train has never been this convenient. The new station pavilion faces Piazzale Carso and finally bridges the gap between the historic center and Marina Centro. Built by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (Gruppo FS) with an investment of approximately 8 million euros, it features a 60-metre pedestrian underpass open every day from 5:00 to 24:00.

The new infrastructure includes:

• a modern underpass with stone flooring and red brick cladding, a tribute to Rimini's Roman origins
• large glass panels bringing natural light into the tunnel
• tactile paths and ramps for full accessibility
• information screens and a CCTV security system
• spaces for automatic ticket machines

Around the new pavilion, the Municipality of Rimini has also redesigned Piazzale Carso park with new lighting, wider pedestrian paths, a taxi area, short-stay parking and a kiss & ride lane.

From Platform to Beach: the Sea Is Just Around the Corner

Before this upgrade, arriving by train and heading to the sea meant taking a longer route around the tracks. Today, stepping out of the new Piazzale Carso exit puts you right in the heart of Marina Centro.
