Ugo of us. 101 years of Ugo Tognazzi
**Homage to Ugo Tognazzi Exhibition: A Journey into the Art and Life of a Countercurrent Protagonist**
Set up in the Residence adjacent to the Grand Hotel, this exhibition offers a rich itinerary of photographs, texts, posters, family heirlooms, newspaper articles, audiovisual contributions and unpublished materials, paying homage to a great artist who was able to distinguish himself for his uniqueness and counter-trend compared to the Italian customs of the time: Ugo Tognazzi.
The exhibition is divided into thematic areas that retrace Tognazzi's career, from his theatrical debut to his experience as a director, through the 150 films in which he acted and without neglecting his great passions: football and cooking. The common thread of the exhibition is the "Tognazzi thought", a poetics fueled by human relationships, satire, the pleasures of life and the denunciation of counter-current social, economic and sexual models, which have made Ugo Tognazzi a courageous artist who is always in step with the times.
The project, realized with the archival collaboration of the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia and the Istituto Luce, unfolds through a rich assortment of materials: photographs, texts, audiovisuals, interviews, multimedia and emotional areas, posters, scripts, diaries and personal objects, as well as awards and unpublished archive materials. The aim is to highlight the artistic eclecticism and extraordinary personality of a man who was an absolute protagonist of his time and the author of some of the most significant pages of cinema and Italian comedy.
During the visit, the public will be accompanied by the voice of Ugo Tognazzi, with a selection of cinematographic extracts: monologues and gags that have fully entered the collective imagination. This soundtrack will transform each environment into a unique emotional experience, reflecting one of the most peculiar characteristics of the artist.
Ugo Tognazzi explored every corner of the cinematographic and theatrical world, from the stage, his first love, to the long cinematographic apprenticeship of the 1950s, until he became a pillar of Italian comedy. The exhibition, curated by Marco Dionisi Carducci under the supervision of Ricky Tognazzi, intends to highlight, step by step, this extraordinary professional journey. Through the story, Tognazzi's innovative thinking, the great artistic encounters, the collaborations, the friendships, and his great passions, such as football and cooking, which accompanied his life and career, are highlighted.
